Kathryn B. Einhaus, M.D.
Specializing In Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women's Health Issues
A graduate of The Ohio State University College of Medicine, Doctor Einhaus, or “Doc” as she is affectionately referred to by her patients, has practiced in Fort Wayne since she finished her residency at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in 1991.
As much as she loves being an Obstetrician, doing surgeries, and promoting health, medicine is not her first career. Unknown to a lot of her patients is the fact that Kathryn Barrye Einhaus taught junior high, high school, and college English for 20 years. She loved teaching and that gift has served her well as she strives to educate her patients in their own care.
Doctor Einhaus spent 5 years in Fort Wayne as part of a large group, but then left that to start an all-female practice. She works today, as she did when she started her own office, with a team of skilled nurse practitioners who share in the daily care of the patients of the Einhaus Group.
On a national level the number of preterm births continues to rise. Dr. Einhaus stresses that good prenatal care should always emphasize improving the health of the mother and trying to prevent premature birth by detecting and treating pre-term labor.
Dr. Einhaus is board certified by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a member of the medical executive committee at Dupont Hospital. Previously she served as Chairperson for the OB/GYN Committee at Lutheran Hospital. She is a member of the American Medical Association, the Indiana State Medical Association, and the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She has published numerous articles and participated in educational sessions for women and for other physicians both locally and throughout the country.
In her current office, her team provides complete obstetrical and gynecological services as well as certain preventive services including nutrition and diabetic counseling, osteoporosis detection, and lipid and glucose screening.
